So here we all are, from left to right, Muppet, Lucy, Ali, Haley, Donna, Hannah, Suz, Anita, Jess and me (Sophy), ready to go for the final paddle before the actual challenge. A quick trip across Priory lake, down
the river to Great Barford through some well

managed locks, bushes, trees, fishing lines and other flotsam and jetsam, some more capsize drills and then back to Priory for final planning. What an inspiring sight it was, to see the team negotiate the river together and for Jess to negotiate some trees, shrubs and bushes! Your paddle is very interesting Jess, but I don’t really want to see it that close again thanks!
Morale was high and everyone settled into a reasonable pace, trying hard not to let the realisation that this really is going to be another limit to be faced! By day 3, if you come to support us and we paddle past without waving, it will probably be because we cannot raise our arms above our heads!
Still so much to organise, but the excitement is building and I cannot help but think back to the physical, psychological and emotional highs and lows we experienced during our other 2 challenges. My fear now, is that I am hooked on facing and conquering
my limits …….
